Our Travel Playlist

A large part of what makes a road trip great, is having awesome music to go along with it! If we would pack our bags tomorrow and hit the road, our playlist would look a little something like this. Do you agree with our list? What songs would you have added to it? Let us know!

1) Send Me On My Way – Rusted Root

This is the perfect song to start a road trip playlist: ‘Send Me On My Way’ to kickoff the adventure! The happy guitar riff at the start immediately sets the mood.

2) Jubel – Klingande

This is a song to start dreaming away and enjoy whatever gorgeous landscape surrounds you. That sweet, sweltering saxophone just perfects this song and really takes you places. We are already looking forward to the summer, driving into the sun and listening to this tune.

3) Ça Plane Pour Moi – Plastic Bertrand

‘Ça Plane Pour Moi’ is a classic Belgian song that gets you excited and happy in a heartbeat! That fast-paced rambling of lyrics along with such a happy melody is the perfect mix for a roadtrip. And of course, it’s always nice to have a piece of home with you while on the road! It’s not easy to sing along, but you wouldn’t be able to stop us from trying! 😉 ‘Allez hop!’

4) Everywhere – Fleetwood Mac

‘I want to be with you everywhere’ really says it all, don’t it? To be able to travel with your loved one is a joy in itself and you just want to be wherever the other is. So when we are on the road together, this song reminds us how amazing it is to be on this trip together!

5) Land Down Under – Men At Work

We can’t wait to go to the Land Down Under sometime! Not only is it a great sing-along that makes us dream away of foreign lands, we also like what the song is about: an adventurer, travelling the globe and meeting all kinds of people, something we really like to do as well.

6) En Route – Tourist LeMc

Another Belgian track on our list! How can you not include a song called ‘En Route’ by an artist with the name Tourist LeMC on a travel playlist? 😉 However this song is more about his lifestory and not travel, it is still a great song we really like. ‘En Routeeeeee!’

7) Come On Eileen – Dexy’s Midnight Runners

The amount of times we have sang along to this song is… countless! And what better place to do sing-alongs than in a car while on a road trip? This song will certainly get you in the right mood!

8) Riptide – Vance Joy

‘There’s this movie that I think you’ll like, this guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City…’ This line combined with this fun indie tune will put you into some serious wanderlust.

9) Pata Pata – Miriam Makeba

The oldest song on this list since it got recorded for the first time in 1957! It is another extremely happy tune and perfect for a playlist like this. This will get us in a travel state of mind, even if we are just sitting at home on a rainy night.

10) Spanish Sahara – Foals

‘Spanish Sahara’ is a song that takes you on a journey. It starts out slow and becomes more and more adventurous and wild.  This song really knows how to move us. It has a certain vibe that gives you goose bumps every time you hear it.

11) Hotel California – Eagles

An amazing 70’s classic! A soft rocksong which is ideally suited to be on a travel playlist. When we do a road trip through the USA, this song will most certainly be featured on our music list! There are so many different, possible road trips to do in the USA! Which way would you go?

12) Africa – Toto

If we would play ‘Hotel California’ during our USA road trip, we would certainly play ‘Africa’ when going to an African country! Just hearing those first beats make us dream away already.

13) Don’t You Forget About Me – Simple Minds

Have you noticed that we kind of like 80’s music? :’D And this might be one of the biggest anthems of that era. It’s just an all round amazing song and definitely a favorite from the both of us. And obviously, we don’t want people forgetting about us while we are on the road. 😉

14) I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) – The Proclaimers

Everyone has heard of this song and it is absolutely perfect to sing as a duet. It’s a catchy tune that will stay in your head! It can even work as a motivational song during a hike. 😉 ‘Tadalata!’

15) Reality – Lost Frequencies (ft. Janieck Devy)

Ending our list is a third Belgian with a song that just screams summer. That beat and funky guitar make us want to hop on the next plane and just go explore the world!

PS: Parts of this clip are even filmed in our hometown Leuven!
